Arrival and Dismissal

ARRIVAL

Students will be allowed to start entering the building at 8:15 a.m.

• Bus Riders:
  • Kindergarten and 1st-graders will enter through the front doors.
  • 2nd-4th graders will enter through the library doors on the west side of the building
     
• Walkers:
  • Walkers from the east of Cambridge will enter through the cafeteria doors.
  • Walkers from west of Cambridge will enter by grade the same as bus riders.
  • Kindergarten and 1st-graders will enter through the front doors
  • 2 thru 4th graders will enter through the library doors on the west side of the building
     
• Car Riders: Parents must remain in the car when dropping off a student.
  • Eastbound traffic will take Colbern Road to Brent Road and turn left onto Kent Road. Cars will follow Kent Road to Cambridge and wait for traffic to clear before proceeding to the drop-off location in the parking lot. It is important to note that we cannot block driveways or intersections.
  • Westbound traffic and cars traveling southbound on S. Scott Ave. will take S. Scott Ave. to Brent Road and turn right onto Kent Road. Cars will follow Kent Road to Cambridge and wait for traffic to clear before proceeding to the drop-off location in the parking lot. It is important to note that we cannot block driveways or intersections.
  • Everyone must follow all traffic laws and yield to any traffic before continuing through the new route. You must also yield to buses so that they can continue to other schools.
  • After dropping off your child, you can safely turn left or right onto Cambridge Road without being blocked by the car-rider line.
  • We attached a map below so that you can see the route.
  • Students will stay in the vehicle until they reach the designated drop-off area. Please look for the signs and staff on duty.
  • Car riders will enter the building through the cafeteria doors.

DISMISSAL

• Students will only be dismissed as SAC, bus riders, walkers, or car riders. We will dismiss students in this order.
   
• Bus Riders
  • These students will be dismissed and loaded on the buses before car rider dismissal can begin.
     
• Walkers
  • Parents cannot meet their students on school grounds.
     
• Car Riders: Parents must remain in the vehicle when picking up a student.
  • Car riders will be picked up after walkers and bus riders have been dismissed.
  • Parents must display the pink Cambridge-issued Car Rider sign on the passenger side dashboard. Parents are welcome to pick up their signs between 9 AM and 3 PM on Monday, August 21, if they did not pick them up at Back-to-School Night.
  • Car rider parents will enter in the west drive near the awning after buses have left. Cars line their vehicles down Kent Dr. to quickly enter the drive.
  • There are 5 car rider spots.
  • For parents with student car riders who may need additional help buckling, please pull to the left of the drive and assist your child there after your child enters the car.
